As the US government rolls out its official UAP disclosure programme, the real question is not what was hidden, but what story is now being installed in its place. The alien creation myth, the promise of extraterrestrial technology as humanity’s redeemer, and the explosion of New Age contact narratives may be the most sophisticated spiritual misdirection of our age, and the antidote is not more information but deeper discernment.
Something significant has shifted. The US Department of Defence has begun releasing what it calls “never-before-seen” UAP files through an official government portal, framed as a historic transparency initiative. More files are promised on a rolling basis. The mainstream media is covering it. Steven Spielberg has a UFO film scheduled for release in June 2026.
The machinery of official disclosure is now fully operational.
But here is the question worth sitting with: what if the most consequential deception is not what the government has been hiding, but the narrative they are now choosing to reveal?
The Framework That Misses the Point
The dominant lens through which most people interpret the UFO phenomenon is technological. Craft, retrieval programmes, biological entities, back-engineered propulsion systems. The assumption is that advanced beings from distant stars have been visiting Earth, and that secret programmes have been studying, and even reverse-engineering, their technology for decades.
There is, however, a deeper and older understanding of this phenomenon, one found across esoteric and mystical traditions, that points somewhere else entirely. The phenomenon appears to be not purely physical but hyperdimensional, operating at the intersection of matter and consciousness in ways that no “nuts and bolts” framework can fully contain.
What appears as a craft in the sky may be the outer edge of something that cannot be reduced to metal, propulsion, or biology. And the beings associated with it have a long history of appearing in whatever form a given culture is most prepared to accept: as angels, demons, fairies, gods, and now, in our technology-saturated age, as extraterrestrials.
A Mythology Seeded Over Decades
None of this is appearing spontaneously. Humanity has been steadily prepared for this moment through decades of Hollywood science fiction, intelligence-linked disclosure movements, carefully managed whistleblower narratives, and New Age channelled material promising contact with benevolent cosmic civilisations.
The long-term aim of this conditioning appears to be the construction of an alien religion for a spiritually hungry population. A ready-made mythology that answers the deepest questions, not with inner discovery, but with an external saviour. Not with embodied soul development, but with “alien technology” as humanity’s redeemer.
This narrative fits hand-in-glove with the transhumanist agenda: the displacement of the human soul by the technological, the worship of artificial intelligence as a kind of oracle god, and the progressive severing of human beings from their own spiritual nature and inner knowing.
The idea that humanity was “created” or genetically modified by alien beings, however compelling (or true) it may feel, serves this agenda perfectly. It installs a new origin story that replaces sovereign consciousness with dependency, and points people outward toward external rescue rather than inward toward genuine awakening.
The Astral Circus
The esoteric teacher Sri Aurobindo warned of a particular spiritual trap he called the “mysticism of phenomena.” This is the seduction of the marvellous, the cosmic, the sensational. When sincere seekers, impatient with the slow and humbling work of genuine inner development, are drawn toward shortcuts, spectacular revelations, and the promise of special knowledge, they become easy prey for forces that exploit exactly that hunger.
The New Age space is full of this territory. Channelled entities, Galactic Federations, Pleiadian guides, cosmic DNA activations, ascension mechanics. Much of it produces temporary feelings of uplift, expansion, and cosmic significance. None of it, without genuine grounded psycho-spiritual work, builds a true foundation.
The philosopher and consciousness researcher David Hawkins described this entire field as an “astral circus”: endlessly fascinating, sometimes joyful, spiritually seductive, but ultimately leading away from true awakening rather than toward it. What makes it so difficult to navigate is that the beings operating within it are shape-shifters. They can appear as beings of light, as ascended masters, as departed loved ones, or as angelic presences. They can produce real feelings of bliss and revelation. The trap is not that they feel dark. The trap is that they feel wonderful.
The Shape of Real Discernment
This is not to say that genuine spiritual assistance does not exist. There are authentic higher forces, real angelic presences, and true divine support available to sincere seekers. The distinction lies in how these forces operate. True divine forces respect human free will. They do not override soul lessons. They do not offer shortcuts, inflate the ego, or promise special status and secret knowledge. They work quietly, through conscience, through grace, through the still, small voice of inner knowing.
The hallmarks of deceptive forces are almost the opposite: grandiosity, specialness, chosen-ness, cosmic importance, and the promise that you have been selected to receive hidden truths that others cannot access.
Spiritual pride is particularly vulnerable terrain here. The person who believes they are awake is often harder to reach than the person who knows they are asleep. The “truther” ego, the “awakened” identity, can mask unresolved wounds behind a sense of superiority that is, in its own way, just as closed as ordinary unconsciousness.
What This Moment Is Actually Asking of Us
The acceleration of official disclosure over the coming years is likely to be matched by an acceleration of UFO and alien cults, contact conferences, channelled material, and large-scale public fascination with extraterrestrial narratives. The phenomenon is moving centre stage.
What this moment is asking for is not more information. It is not better data, more whistleblowers, or longer government files. It is discernment rooted in genuine inner work. The ability to distinguish, through sincere self-knowledge and spiritual practice, between what leads toward soul embodiment and authentic connection with the Divine, and what leads toward the inflation of the ego and the handing of our sovereignty to forces we cannot see.
The real “inner organic technology” available to human beings, the spiritual faculties of direct perception, conscience, and alignment with higher truth, is infinitely more powerful than anything an external disclosure programme could offer.
This moment is not a cosmic handout. It is an invitation to do the harder, quieter, more transformative work of genuinely waking up.
