The human imagination has long been captivated by tales of hidden worlds, alien beings, and ancient civilisations. Every so often, a story emerges that blurs the lines between myth and reality—challenging our perception of history and the fabric of our existence. One such narrative is the enigmatic Lacerta Files, a collection of transcripts that claim to detail interviews with a reptilian being named Lacerta, said to be a member of an ancient race living beneath the Earth’s surface.
But what if, just for a moment, we suspended disbelief and considered the implications of such a possibility?
A Meeting Unlike Any Other
In December 1999, a journalist—known as Ole K (apparently after Agent K in the MIB films, so let’s just call him K)—recorded an extraordinary conversation in a secluded home in Sweden. He was a professional sceptic, known for debunking UFO sightings and paranormal claims. Yet as he sat across from Lacerta, his worldview began to fracture.
Lacerta was described as humanoid but undeniably non-human: pale green-scaled skin, vertical pupils, and a transparent inner eyelid that drew sideways when she blinked. She introduced herself calmly:
“We are native Terrans… we evolved from your reptilian ancestors millions of years ago.” 〔Lacerta Files, Interview 1〕
According to the transcript, her species, the native Terrans, inhabit vast subterranean cities that predate human civilisation by tens of millions of years.
The Seven Versions of Humanity
Among the most unsettling revelations in the Lacerta Files is the claim that humanity did not arise from natural evolution alone. Lacerta asserts that humans are the seventh genetically engineered version of a species designed by extraterrestrial beings she calls the Illojim.
She explains that the Illojim originally came to Earth seeking copper and raw materials, but their focus shifted when they encountered primitive hominids:
“They decided to ‘help’ the apes evolve faster, to serve them in the future as some kind of slave-race in coming wars.” 〔Interview 1〕
According to Lacerta, previous human iterations developed too quickly, rebelled, or faced destruction due to catastrophic “resets.” The current version, our version, was created only 8,500 years ago:
“The last creation of the seventh breed… was done just 8,500 years ago and this is the only creation you can remember.” 〔Interview 1〕
Could this be why flood myths appear in so many ancient cultures?
Could buried ruins and unexplained technologies be remnants of our lost predecessors?
Beneath the Surface
Lacerta describes a sprawling world beneath our feet: engineered tunnels, domed caverns, and artificial light sources mimicking the sun.
She points to ancient structures such as Derinkuyu in Turkey, an enormous multi-level underground city, as not human in origin but built as access points to Terran networks. Geological surveys have revealed vast cavities deep within the Earth’s crust, typically dismissed as natural formations.
But what if a hidden civilization truly exists just out of reach?
The War for Copper
Lacerta’s story stretches much farther into prehistory—into a conflict that shaped the planet long before human emergence.
She recounts a war between humanoids from Procyon and an early reptilian species over Earth’s valuable copper resources. Both sides wielded advanced technology based on copper’s unusual ability to generate exotic energy fields.
This conflict, she claims, triggered the extinction of the dinosaurs—not a stray asteroid:
“A special kind of fusion bomb was detonated in ‘Middle America’… its aim was to destroy life-forms but not harm the valuable raw materials and the copper.” 〔Interview 1〕
Science attributes the mass extinction event to an asteroid impact in the Yucatán. But the Lacerta narrative offers a radically different hypothesis—one that recasts Earth’s deep history as the fallout of alien warfare. Yet, with anomalies such as the iridium layer found in the Chicxulub crater, the narrative leaves just enough room for doubt to fester.
A Metaphor or a Warning?
Whether interpreted as science-fiction mythology or a suppressed truth, the Lacerta Files challenge the foundational narrative of human origin and destiny. They tap into ancient anxieties:
- Are we the apex species… or someone else’s unfinished project?
- Do we truly control our future… or are we still part of someone’s plan?
- What if our creators return?
“You rely on your archaeology… but how should you know anything about the six civilizations before?”〔Interview 1〕
Even the most sceptical mind may feel a flicker of curiosity. The stories we dismiss today could become tomorrow’s unsettling revelations. So, the next time you gaze at the stars—or wonder what lies beneath your feet—consider this chilling possibility:
The truth may not be as far beneath us as we think.

Echoes in Myth: The Vril-ya and Other Subterranean Civilizations
Stories of hidden worlds beneath our feet are far older than the Lacerta Files. They appear in Victorian fiction, ancient Sanskrit lore, medieval mysticism, and Indigenous oral traditions across the globe. What if Lacerta’s account is not an isolated tale, but the latest iteration of an enduring archetype?
One of the most striking parallels arises from the 1871 novel The Coming Race by Edward Bulwer-Lytton. He described an advanced subterranean species known as the Vril-ya, a powerful race that wielded Vril, a form of psychic-technological energy used for healing, levitation, and devastating destruction. The Vril-ya regarded humanity as a primitive interim species, destined either for replacement or subjugation should they return to the surface.
This concept reverberates through Lacerta’s descriptions of the native Terrans: an ancient, hidden civilisation with telepathic abilities and technology that manipulates the fundamental forces of nature. Both portray us as newcomers, a recently installed model with uncertain tenure.
And the Vril-ya are not alone in humanity’s deep-cave memory:
- Agartha — Tibetan and Hindu traditions speak of a vast inner-Earth realm ruled by enlightened beings, guardians of lost knowledge.
- Shambhala — a hidden kingdom of advanced spirituality, shielded from the unready world.
- Nagas — serpent-like underworld dwellers in ancient Indian and Southeast Asian lore, often depicted as both powerful and enigmatic.
- Kukulkan / Quetzalcoatl — feathered serpent gods of Mesoamerica, said to emerge from underground or celestial realms to uplift humanity.
- The Hopi Ant People — subterranean beings credited with saving early humans during planetary cataclysms.
Each culture, separated by oceans and millennia, shares a similar structure:
An older civilization, beneath us or beyond our sight.
A race possessing superior wisdom or technology.
A relationship with humanity defined by mentorship… or dominion.
Viewed collectively, these stories suggest a persistent intuition and a sense that our species arrived late to an already occupied world. Perhaps that’s why Lacerta’s narrative feels familiar.
Whether these parallels reflect shared ancient experiences, symbolic psychological truths, or an echo of forgotten history, they hint at a provocative possibility:
If humanity is Version Seven, then do the Lacerta files truly document One through Six?
And do they still walk—somewhere beneath our feet?

You made two obvious mistakes in your post. The alien species from Aldebaran didn’t create the human series for mining or slavery rather the creation of a passive species for warfare which they were actively breeding the test series for warfare, and the creation was already put into use, warfare purpose. The second mistake is you point out the earlier global war which happened 65 million years ago in which a reptilian species which arrived later than the colonizing species from Procyon used a copper-based fusion bomb. Lacerta clearly mentioned the warring the reptilian species used an experimental fusion bomb and detonated it in the Middle America. She didn’t mention the use of copper in it though both alien species were interested in copper. Please reread the Lacerta Files again.
Thanks for the feedback. Our original article was based mainly on The Why Files, which didn’t fully align with the original Lacerta Files. I’ve gone through the source and fully updated the article to better align with it.
